Rescued Animals that Rescue Owners

Animals are born with specific traits the world at large has found almost impossible to comprehend.

Some of them have displayed uncanny — even incomprehensible — understanding of situations that have resulted in the accomplishment of amazing feats of heroism, despite the beliefs of many that they have what is essentially the ‘mentality’ of toddlers.

Pet owners are quick to point out that ignorance is anything but bliss when it comes to underestimating the intelligence of various species and the stories — especially of horses, donkeys, goats, dogs, cats, birds and even rats and fish — are amazingly consistent amongst those with personal experiences that counter the common narrative.

What, then, is going on in the animal world and how can we discern the truth about animal intelligence? How much of what ‘they’ do is actually borne of a comprehension of an emergency? Do they sense, somehow, the need to act?

While the case could be made that they sense and respond to the emotions and feelings of those in their immediate circle in the event of an emergency, it doesn’t explain the number of animals that have discovered a crisis for themselves and alerted their ‘people’ to the impending disaster.

In today’s Internet-driven world, animals are finally coming into their own.
