Every database intended to assist in finding missing pets is different and all function differently. Here are some insights.

Pawboost is a Facebook project. In order to utilize the search tool on Pawboost, understand that it is Zip Code driven and searching Pawboost using Zip Codes will render the results you seek.
Try it here: PAWBOOST.COM/lost-found-pets/

Similarly, PETFINDER.COM is a site that operates in much the same way. You will want to put in information based on the location the pet was last seen or perhaps an area within 250 miles or so of that event.

Once you are certain that you are covering those bases effectively through your own efforts or that of you and a team of people working to assist you in this process, widen the scope of your search and consider any and all options.

Perhaps a tracking dog and trainer can come up with a plausible explanation for your pup’s whereabouts. Maybe advertising in a wider area will assist in bringing your pet home again!

Online venues are wonderful but they’re not the ONLY one available to you.

HUMANE SOCIETY ARIZONA – FOUND ANIMALS/

FIDOFINDER.COM is also an option, as is FINDTOTO.COM

LOST MY DOGGIE advertises that they have the highest success rates with up to an 85% success rate!

PETCOLOVE.COM

PETSMARTCHARITIES.ORG/adopt-a-pet

PAWMAW.COM specializes in STOLEN PETS, a real danger in today’s society.

PETFBI.COM seems a little cumbersome at first but does work once you put in the information and SCROLL DOWN to see your results.

Petharbor is now PETCONNECT.COM and is a very useful tool in locating missing pets. Go there, fill out the questionnaire — not being at all specific about breeds OR EVEN GENDERS because a lot of times they’re being processed by people new to distinguishing one breed from another and they can easily be misclassified, to the point where even sexes are misidentified. We are building a database of OFTEN PAID volunteers who can go to specific shelters to check on look-alike to assist owners in finding lost/stolen/missing pups. Call to participate at our toll free number: 888.722.7710.

Give it your search perimeters and daily, about 4:30 A.M., you will receive a large listing of animals in shelters that may contain your missing pet.

Don’t be reluctant to do more than one of these — do them all if at all possible — as your pet could have been moved from one location to another.

Here are a couple more tips to aid in your search:

Has your pet’s appearance changed since they’ve been gone? Are they groomed in one picture and not another? Could their nose have changed color and, if so, this may impact your search.
